The emphasis will be on job creation. President Obama has it right theoretically; if standards and access don't improve in the U.S., we'll join the rest of the world in grappling for unskilled employment because we lack the education and training to do otherwise. Personally, I'd like to see some effort at pumping new life into libraries - wouldn't it be lovely if libraries were used as a place to test alternative approaches to 'whole child' education?
